Cold World: Pick a Side

What would you respond to first? A cold email or a cold call?

I personally always pick up if it's a non-localized number. Aka don't call me and mask your number like you're from my home state. I know there are no B2B companies there...just let that 413 or 212 area code shine!

I will more than likely archive your cold email, they typically suck...and this is coming from a guy that designed sequences and inbound flows for years. I'm saying that my art was trash.

Bonus shout out to this ultimate troll. She more abrasive than 80 grit sand paper and she straight bullied the OP in the thread.

Both of the posts shown are super cringe. “I’ll take examples of why people are leaving LI for $1000 Alex”

She’s fun to follow. I certainly wouldn’t have been as confident as her back when I had the same experience.

Unfortunately. it’s a rare one that sees it that way. “We’re plus 300% MQLs!”

Phone doesn't work for me on the receiving end. Volume off during business hours. But I keep the SMS window open on screen. I'll reply to texts on my time if they're worthy. Emails get skimmed and dumped most often. Phone, Email, Text, PET. I use all 3 to PET prospects. If I can't get a reply anywhere, my last text message is this:

▶️ •၊၊၊|။။၊|။|။|||။၊| 0:09

Gets a solid 2% response" "Hey, did you record something for me, it won't play!"

The answer is both. Why would you rely solely on one when the other is also available, it’s not a secret some people will respond better to one over the other. This means if you’re not using one you’re clearly missing out on some targets. Both tools need to be used effectively to maximize your efforts.

Oh, no doubt! Maximize all channels available to you. Hell, I ran a direct mail campaign that crushed at my last company.

To me, the Cold caller always has more chances to sell, sending emails would be the second one in sequence, that's my selling strategy!

Depends entirely on the ICP. If you’re selling to IT or engineers then stay away from the phone. If you’re selling to operations, sales, marketing, etc, dial first and email second. You’re playing the same game as them, so you better be stronger than they are or they’ll ignore you.

Cold call for sure. I’m curious I always pick up. Cold email it needs to be relevant.

Like people that add me to their outreach are <redacted>. I’m an SDR, I don’t need $400k in funding my CEO does?

I don’t need “more inbound leads” you’re gonna replace me lmao.

Hell yes. I got a cold email the other day from an SDR Manager trying to recruit me to their team.

Like dude, you fucking suck.

I am a call first kind of tennis player.
I think the likely hood of something positive coming from first call is highe than first email.

Both. Typically it's a call first then email for me.

However, I've got a huge territory right now and email open rates have been solid.

Email for me, The "would you be opposed to an intro" reply after a tailored email is better than any cold call for me.

Cold call has its pro's but connect rates are so low
