I may consult with someone but wanted advice from the hive-mind here first on my situation. TLDR - no variable/quota comp plan 6 weeks in
- Was laid off and took best offer, even though it was under past comp
- Best offer wouldn't do ramp but was told by executive we would adjust the variable comp plan so I could hit my full variable in my first quarter
- 6 weeks in, and no quota plan has been presented thus far. I've asked my boss 3 times in weeklies (this is documented in writing too) to even see the old one for context.
- 1 - Boss is open to me creating a plan for additional comp beyond the standard plan but there's no benchmarks for outbound KPIs or even accurate pipeline generation for me to pull something reasonable
- 2 - Not sure how to broach the variable comp topic again. I want to send a formal email referencing the 3 dates it was brought up, etc. and the impact to low key start a paper trail, but also don't want to piss anyone off. I was over-sold on items so it's driving me to safeguard myself even more.
Thoughts on how to re-approach?
