I actually never did a stint as a true SDR, but when I first started in sales they threw me right into a full cycle roll. I wish I had done 6-12 months as an SDR, it would have helped me learn sales more quickly. Instead I floundered as an AE for a year before I learned wtf I was doing.ย
I recommend 9-12 months in an SDR role to get your chops before taking on a closing job.ย
