SDR is 100% the toughest role, but once you get good at it your confidence is through the roof

Is it unusual for SDRs to be comped on # of Stage 2 opps?

SDR to AE can be tough, particularly when the business you’re working for is making outside hires for AE. It can become very frustrating when you have all of that knowledge of a product/service but you feel that you may be getting overlooked. The key is to be assertive about your achievements - if you’re smashing your meetings/opps target, ask about the opportunity to progress. This is how I moved from SDR to AE and, whilst I was naive enough to accept only a bump in commission
and not basic (fml 😩) I got valuable experience that helped me further my career.
