Why does Direct Messages only work through the app?? I rarely fire up the app... what else am I missing?

to add on to this the other way, I can't seem to find a way to "share a win" in the app, only online. But I am also an idiot and could be missing something.
My app just decides to stop reacting to inputs randomly. So I see the DM, but cannot get the DMs to open. I am patiently waiting for desktop DMs to work.

I don't have an iPhone, so I can't get the app. I even took my old iPod touch out of mothballs to see if I could get the app on that, but it's too out of date and won't update. Oh well. Maybe one day it'll be on Android.

Did not realize it is only an Apple thing... hmmm... still... why NOT on laptop??? Does it have to be an apple laptop?
App ain't OK,guess I would get my plans ruined for getting a new I-phone then:)

Pretty sure it was done to boost app adoption IDK though
My App was giving me some problems as well. I had to delete and re download.
