Be human, and say sorry for bringing up work on your time off.
Send an email to get their OOO on when they return and put a calendar invite to call them. Make sure to make a joke out of it and be human.

Yes, so many reps forget to just be human on the phone.

Two minds here:

1) Why did you pick up an unknown caller on your vacation? Their fault for engaging.
2) Humility goes both ways. @Kosta_Konfucius has the right idea.

This is what got me over my cold call anxiety. They picked up the phone, to an unknown caller no less. If theyโ€™re not interested in your offering thatโ€™s cool, but they literally gave you permission to speak by picking up.

People work hybrid or remote much more often now. Call their cell. I do. It works.

Call, reschedule if you must, and let feelings play no role in your process. ๐Ÿซก

Look you didn't know what you didn't know.
I choose not to call cell numbers until I get permission first btw ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Truthfully, I feel quite uncomfortable about it. However, it seems like in zoominfo those are the only numbers people have and no direct numbers seem to work because of remote work. It seems to be the only thing that works from a calling POV.

@Kosta_Konfucius has it right. If youโ€™re cold calling cell phones, its always a risk but as long as youโ€™re quick to apologize for the inconvenience, itโ€™s never been an issue in my experience.

If someone picks up they want to talk. Iโ€™d treat each call the same until they tell you otherwise. If theyโ€™re really pissed, just offer to call back in a week. EZPZ

Itโ€™s simple, if they tell you they are on a vacay, show empathy but ask when can you connect back. I generally donโ€™t call the cell.

I mean they COULD always be on vacation, definitely a little messed up if you know they are on vacation, but if it an honest mistake, never had an issue after apologizing

all is fair in love and Revenue, if their on Vacay when you catch them then lean into it and make some sort of joke. "You're in Aruba, no way I'm here too, making cold calls I'll see you at Senor Frogs later tonight."

How are you supposed to know when they are on vacation?

How would you know people are on vacation? Plus if they pick up it is on them.
