Do you sign an NDA for the recruiter to share the JD and pay??

The recruiter join 15 minutes late for the call, drops name of the founder who also has a tarnished image of employees being treated badly. Desperately, you sign the NDA and then the recruiter opens up the call with 5 days a week, low pay compared to the market for a Senior Account executive. What would you do?

Do you sign an NDA even for the recruiter to share the JD and pay

Unfortunately, desperate times call for desperate measures, the market will shift in time and then you can always make a needed move out of a bad environment. I will never judge someone that took a job they hate because market circumstances required it and you need to pay bills.

This was my first thought.

Also, what are they hiding?

Scratching my head over why job description and compensation would require NDA. Unless it's for Navy SEALs or something.

Yea it doesn't make any sense to me. The one time I did it was more detailed stuff about the product and a newfangled process they were launching that they thought was hot shit.

Spoiler: It was not hot shit.

How could they even enforce it? Unless they had direct evidence that you violated it and that you doing so affect a hire, or pack there of, I donโ€™t even understand why? I could see perhaps maybe for sensitive material companies like government type or associated, but otherwise doesnโ€™t make sense.

Yeah, just to disclose the job description and compensation? I guess itโ€™s such crap, I presume they donโ€™t want word getting out.

So you aren't owned by this recruiter, so the answer is no thanks, and yeet yourself out of there.

Never even heard of an NDA being requested during the interview process. Major red flag.

I have. It was to share a lot more detailed stuff.

That said the place was toxic AF and one of the worst bosses I've ever had. And I've had a few doozies...

Having you sign an NDA to talk to an employer? Sounds like a scam to me. Run forest, run.

I would try to not hold back laughter or say "are you fucking kidding me" if they asked me to sign an NDA to even discuss a mid level IC role

lmao, I know exactly which company this is based on your description.

If I'm correct, the certain company he was a part of is now slang for taxi.

It's not worth it, actually know someone that worked for that startup and it was a dumpster fire. Below market pay, they want people to chug the koolaid, poor results.

Nope nope nope

Edit: how can they enforce that NDA anyway lol. I'll just say it, CloudKitchens

Edit 2: and I didn't see his comment (posted before mine) confirming that. Ooops

Iโ€™d sign an NDA for anyone. Literally means nothing to me ๐Ÿคก

I mean it does, but itโ€™s not that big of a deal/donโ€™t need to share info that often.

Usually itโ€™s shared over a call so nothing gets put in writing. I get it, but then again, it leaves you open to getting it changed while interviewing.
