Emailing from temporary gmail

Company got hit with ransomware, been getting by with a temporary gmail account. We are getting to the end of week 3 and the home office is close to up and running. Since we are almost out of crisis mode it is expected to start prospecting again. They are taking extra precautions for remote workers which do not currently have a timeline so I will not have email for an undetermined amount of time. I don't feel that I can cold email from a gmail account but can still make phone calls.

Thoughts on follow up emails coming from a gmail account instead of company email?

I'd just abandon emails all together until it's resolved and call.

Then if call progresses, you can explain that they'll receive an email from your gmail.

I think you've already solved the problem in best way possible.

I think this is the best approach. There can be a lot of trust lost with a temp gmail that would be hard to win back.

the detective has it, just pick up that phone and call and keep calling till you get through, you have an excuse for persistence.

Then email with context and all will be well.

TBH, calling imo should be the first choice of communication in any deal, can achieve what 20 emails can in one 5 min call.

Tbh, if I see a gmail account come through I’m a immediately skeptical. Stick to the phone for now until it’s resolved.

I'd be very concerned as well if there's a tech platform that's being sold to me and there's infosec/security review involved...and they have a ransomware attack this severe. Best to leave any speculation out of things.

Luckily we are a manufacturer of physical goods. The biggest concern I have heard from people payment processing but that is all handled externally so not really an issue.

If that's your personal Gmail, I believe that prospects will have no problem with dealing with you on a more personal level.
But just prior to using your gmail account you need to make calls to the prospects letting them know your new gmail account address before you actually start using it to be able identify you as a sender!
