Sales is an essential part every company is doing,we might be practicing some non sales tasks as you referred the same way the other non-sales departments may do some extra sales tasks without admitting it.
As think about it, each company's activity is involving a final product that eventually needs to be sold and find it's way to the market directly through us or indirectly by others!
