Being left alone is the ultimate perk. This should be the number one thing that new leaders get taught. Micromanaging makes your employees less effective but give them freedom and they'll produce.

Don't get me wrong, I still need to participate in team meetings and whatnot, but on the whole, it's smooth sailing!

Yeah, I'd be a little surprised if you had managed to avoid team meetings. That'd be a new one.

I think being left alone is overrated. ย Most people that want to be left alone have shitty managers. ย

I know this is a different comparison but can you imagine if an NFL quarterback came off the field during a game and sat by himself while the team punted. ย No feedback, no discussion with the offensive line, no connection with the receivers. ย Just... alone.

Unlimited PTO as long as Iโ€™m consistently hitting quota. Itโ€™s very vague and not as objective as Iโ€™d like atm, but I can work with that for now

Unltd PTO is a bit of a joke in this way. Employers have too much guilt control. "Sure you need to take that week off? Numbers are a bit down" Like working more will magically help them jump up. Atleast in the UK, we get 20 days, minimum plus 8 public days.ย

That's true. It's a grey area at the least. What I try to do though on my part is plan ahead. Last month I took a 10 day PTO middle of the month and I was still good. It's tricky because your manager can at some point flip and start looking at it like, "dude's taking so many PTO's. I know he can, but isn't it a lot?" lol

Looks delicious, what is that?!

And favorite perk is honestly unlimited PTO - within an honor system of course, but every company I've had this at; I've yet to see someone abuse it.

We have a stand up arcade machine, I really enjoy it as it allows me to turn my mind off for 15-20 minutes and play some old school Street Fighter.ย  Beyond that, I've seen all the fancy bells and whistles in my time - the best perk we have is actual trust and transparency from top to bottom, and a leadership team that isn't making terrible decisions chasing unicorns.ย ย

It is one of the main reasons I accepted the job offer. The salary is about ~10% lower than the industry average but the travel stipend makes up for that by itself, in my opinion.ย
