Got moved to Enterprise/Partnership deals. Is this a promotion?

Title says it. I work with direct clients booking meeting to sell out SaaS, pretty self explanatory. Recently got a ping from my director saying I'm going to be moving to larger partnership/Enterprise deals to white label and up sell to existing clients, so essentially partnership/Enterprise up selling calls I'll be booking now.

Anyone have experience with this? They said it's cuz I've been doing well dealing with bigger companies and clients. I'm not sure how this effects my quota/metrics. I've essentially been given a book of business/accounts to work with.

Any idea of how I should go about this? Could really use some feedback.

I'd sit down and discuss quota, comp plan, base pay raise, etc. None of this should go forward without you understanding the whole picture.

I second this wisdom.

Also your position is going to rely heavily on your direct relationship with the clients in your book of business. More so than net new, much more so. Clients liking you personally play a big part in the upsell. People buy from people they like.

Yup, I'd assume larger deal size= more incentives in place to close the deal. This was brought on just today. Have a call with my manager tomorrow to see what changes in terms of my responsibilities, current leads and obligations.

I just don't want to keep doing what I've been doing without any raise in commissions/slice of the pie. I was told we're essentially going after larger companies with more budget and I'd be leading that in terms of outbound. I've done well so far and at the least should hace my commission increased.

It's not a promotion unless you get a bump in pay and/or equity.  Otherwise they're piling more work onto you by giving you a title.  I've known managers who don't give raises unless you ask.  No hurt in discussing!

Yup, spoke about it. I asked to discuss the transition which is happening this Monday. It'll likely be less work actually since it's more so dealing with a book of business vs heavy prospecting. Either way, I'm going to argue that enterprise deals closing via me should mean my commission should reflect that.

Not that I'm aware of just yet. I find out tomorrow. Either way, I'll be making a case for it.
