House fire. What are you taking?

my heart truly goes out to those who are looking for employment right now, as well as those who are in hostile environment due to unpredictable, employment trends. That being said, hypothetically speaking, you hear that your employer is entering into an unstable phase, and/or having just come off a layoffs, with the promise of more to come, how do you prepare? Of updating your résumé? What are your go to moves? What are you saving? What are you hiding? What conversations are you having? This goes for anyone who is looking to fight to keep their job as well as anyone who is eager to depart .

This time around, suit up for a double-dip.
This time around, dive into a full-time gig and sprinkle in a sassy side hustle.
This time around, think of yourself first.
This time around, think of yourself TWICE.

External hard drive holds the essentials - running spreadsheet of deals and accomplishments, screen shots of awards and call outs, and resume template.

It’s my go box.

I have a literal go box in my entryway. It’s a way of life this time of year.

I live in an area that might have a wildfire one day. I'm as prepared as I can be. Essential papers and items in a box in the entryway. I took your "house fire" comment and continued the thought.

So my primary go box (if I can only grab one thing) has legal documents, passports, birth certificates, etc., as well as key media that cannot be replaced (external drives w/digital photos, etc). I have other things I'd like to grab in case of emergency (photo albums that haven't yet been scanned, etc) but the key box is permanently in my entryway.

Get in front of your clients/partners as much as possible. Create that bond. If you’re mostly selling in person then you’re accomplishing this on the regular I’m sure.

The usuals. Proof of accomplishments. A couple of Slack screenshots if you've got some praise you want to preserve. Then, hyper-drive into employment pipeline building. Sorry, man.
