How are the people who got laid off doing?

Hope ya'll are staying sane. Wanted to check in and see how the people who got laid off are doing? Since I got laid off in January, I've been working out, applying for jobs, booking a trip to Europe this summer(Live, laugh, love) and possibly thinking about getting my MBA and praying I won't need to go back to work as a BDR.

Other than that, I'm just trying to keep myself productive and preoccupied and trying to get referrals for roles.

How are you all holding up?

How you doin...?

Laid off in November, took new job in January, was lied to about every aspect of job, quit said job, rejoined old company at higher base and bigger territory.

Iโ€™m thankful and humbled. Itโ€™s tough in these streets.

Iโ€™m glad you are living, laughing, and loving. That, and working out, is what will keep you even throughout the journey. Keep on, brother man.

Thank you. It's been a super rough year or so, but I'm still going.

I'm surviving. Was fortunate to get another job, but unfortunate enough that it was a rather large pay cut for me (went from $75k base/$150k OTE to $50k base/$75k OTE). Depending on who you ask, I should either stick it out here for a year or two, or be looking to leave immediately. I've chosen to keep applying to other places. Haven't even put this job on my LinkedIn or my resume yet.

That's rough. It's possible I may have to go back to being a BDR and taking a pay cut as well if I can't get AM roles in the next couple of months.

I just need to a job so I'm not living off severance lol

I got exactly one week of pay as severance. I had savings and my commissions, but I didn't want to dip into those too much.

1 week is a shit deal tbh, but at least you're still employed. Could be worse

When I got laid off 3 years ago,I had 3 main things to do that took 2 weeks per each.

First 2 weeks were for rest and meditation.

2nd 2 weeks were to view the history of my career and see if it was really me that made em lay me off or the company was just unreasonable and unfair when they did so.

And thinking of a career change if it was really me.

Last 2 weeks after I realized that it wasn't actually me I restarted my job seeking journey again and eventually managed to get to a better company with a better payout.

Best of luck to you at your next steps!

I'm going on 9 months since laid off. Very few reasonable opportunities and slowly ripping my beautiful head of hair out.

I think that about sums it up.

Work it till it can't be worked and move on if need be. Life's too short. You can always go get another Sales Job. You cant go get another lifetime. It's just a company, thats been created on/with paper. New papers filed daily. I'm empassioned by what I do, not who I work for. And for most of us, companies should be thanking God, and be lucky and glad to have us! Its a privilege for us to work for them not vice versa. This relationship has been skewed wrong for years! Everyone's been afraid to say the emperor is naked. BFD!
