How can I support our SDRs as an AE?

Hey!

We have a lot of new SDRs joining our business currently and I'm in the lucky position that they are booking high volumes of meetings for me.

I was an SDR and got promoted to AE a year ago so I try to share as much knowledge with these new SDRs as possible by adding them to calls, running cold call role plays etc.

Their success directly correlates to mine so I want to make sure that they are getting as much support as necessary. I've also been in their position so I know how challenging the role can be and want to support them as much as I can.

I'm interested to hear how are you supporting your SDRs? Are there any specific areas that you have found are most beneficial to coach and help new reps with?

Thanks in advance - I really believe that we all have an obligation to help and coach our SDRs as much as possible as an AE - their success directly correlates to our success so it would be great to understand how others support them.

Of course we provide company training but I feel that the one on one sessions with those of us that have done it seem to have a greater impact as whether we like it or not we are role models.

Seems like you are doing a great job so far. If you want to support them even more surprise them with lunch or a 10 dollar Starbucks gift card. A co-worker ordered me dominoโ€™s yesterday and it was actually so touching and something I will not forgetย

I always thank with an e-giftcard if they have gone above and beyond. I do this for service technicians too.ย

With a new SDR I try to do a lot of role playing to get them super comfortable with their job.

Once they are a few months in and they are doing a good job, start giving them more responsibilities. Keep them involved longer in a deal, ask their opinion etc. If I was an SDR I would value that way more than getting a Starbucks gift card ๐Ÿ˜…

Give them the gift of network. Offer to vouch for them at the clubs they can't get into. Help them figure out how to grow a community and get in front of people. Cold calling is great, building a network in something they're passionate about is much more helpful.ย

Share with them those secrets of making connections, how to make connections with founders/CEOs.ย
