How do you ace your interview process?

When you interview with sales leaders, what are you finding they're looking for in Senior AE (and AM) candidates lately?

In my experience, there are "non-negotiables" that need to be checked off, candidate alignment to company values, and then some X-factors that each leader will have unique perspective/interest in.

What would you add here? Thanks in advance!

Have you ever asked them: "What do you need from me (expect from me) to drive success for you/your team?"

The answer will either be spun bullshit, or they will tell you everything they are really looking for.

Another good question to ask: What separates good from great reps here?

I love this question. I also like to ask "What will make someone a top performer in this role? What has stopped other reps from being top performers?"ย

Also:

Why would a prospect buy from us compared to xyz competitor? What are the reasons a prospect might not buy from us?

These are all great questions to ask.ย  ย How these are answered will be key for understanding if this will be a fit.

Know your questions that you want to ask before you get to the interview. You can make it a map if you want where depending on the answers you get it leads to a new question.

I would make sure to ask more specifics about their company operations and long-term efforts. If you can help them see that you will buyin to their goals with them, and not just "make money" then it should help - assuming youre able to be genuine about it.ย
