How do you feed your personal network?

The goal of this question is not to learn how you connect with new prospects.

Instead I'm interested to learn how to do meet new people in general. What kind of clubs, associations or activities do you get involved in?

I'm asking this because when you live in a busy and dynamic city, very often you have hobbies and other activities that lead you to meet interesting people. Those contacts can develop on a personal level but at the same time they often open doors for business, even if indirectly.

Great question! I attend a local satanic intern burning. We sacrifice one intern each week and then march down the streets with the intern's head on a pike while singing 'Oh Come All Ye Faithful'.

Other than that, AA is a great way to meet new friends.

Might be a tough search depending on where you are, but local groups on FB or go on your city specific subreddit and you can probably find local events where you could meet other (stuff at parks, food truck nights at a brewery, etc.)

But.... I'm also on the board at my local Y and play pickup hoops once a wk and tennis twice a wk.

I try to actually avoid people outside of work. I’m in sales. My energy, sleep deprivation & stimulant fueled self deprecating insults never go over well at the chamber dinners. If I must, I stick to the bar lobby at sales conferences where I yell too much to the other male rep I came here with about how cool we were playing JV our senior years of high school.
