How do you "Follow Up"?

Very curious how people follow up with prospects.

All I see anywhere is people bashing the usage of "Just following up", "Hope all is well...", and "Jumping back to the top of your inbox".

When I follow up I say hey, I am following up. I always get responses. Whether they are positive or negative. I literally use the exact verbiage above and it always works. Following up does not have to be complex and involve sending some Loom, why is that the notion?

Alright geniuses, let's hear it. How the fuck else do you follow up?

I fall into their roof completely naked wearing a jet pack filled with Kahlua. Buuut if I'm all bruised up already and tired from the prior evening's festivities I also just stick with a simple "as we discussed, I'm following up to x."

Clever strategy, I've been rocking the banana hammock with a Super Soaker filled with Fresca when I drop in and I'm getting ghosted. May need the level this up to your technique.

Follow up is all about getting the buyer emotionally invested in the desired outcome you want (a yes or a no). There are many tactics to accomplish this, but it’s the core of successful follow up. Also, don’t be patient, the job is about getting the yes or no as fast as humanely possible. Maybe’s kill sales careers

I feel like "just following up" is overused. Just use different words - Hey Sam just curious to hear what you think .... i just try to use the phrase just following up without actually saying it lol

I mean i guess but that is the word/phrase for it. You know what else is overused? "I'm hungry". But i'm not going to start saying "Oh by golly am I famished right now".

Theres just no difference between "just following up" and your other take. Like, you will get the same result. Maybe I am just too triggered by LinkedIn "Influencers" right now.

"Follow up to our call"?

I'm only sending emails after I actually speak to someone at this point. Usually because they ask me to send one with my contact information and bullet points of what I need for agreed upon next steps.

I’ve gotten the most responses with just “any thoughts?”

"Do you have any feedback on X?"

"Have you had the opportunity to hear your internal feedback yet?"

After enough of these, I have to start throwing random but relevant blogs at them and twist them into being relevant and say "speaking of, had the chance to...."

I feel like it depends on what you’re “following up” for. If you’re following up to try and get a meeting, stop typing, delete the draft, call the prospect. If you’ve already had a convo and sent something over, call out the biggest action item and simply ask “Do you have an update on xxxx?” I don’t really think it matters if you say you’re following up, I think it matters more WHY you’re following up.

If you can find something truly relevant to share w/ them... draft a Seperate email with subject “saw this and thought of you”. Share the content and why hou though it was relevant for them. Let it marinate a bit sometimes theyll naturally lean back into whatever the orignal ask was. Keep making deposits in your follow ups

Best if you have a little something for them to leave behind, whether relevant to the deal or to them personally.
