How do you use custom videos for outreach?

if you have tried it and abandoned, why??

thinking about adding vids to my cold process but hesitant to try something that seems corny. IDK could be my older age.

what works?

I've found that there usually isn't much ROI on the time invested. I'll use them for prospects I'm really trying to get in touch with, but it's not scalable for every piece of outreach imo.

Have you ever made a generic type of video that you can send to multiple prospects? Was thinking that might work

I'm about to go to a conference today, and my company had me make a generic video for the conference. That's kind of the only circumstance where I'll do that. We tie it into these customized QR code cards that I hand out in the vendor hall.

Still not sure on the ROI on that either, but I can revisit this post in a week or two after this conference to let you know the success rate.

It took me so long to get set to do one, with scripting, prep, practice, false starts, that I really just wanted to pick up the phone.

I realized just recently that video prospecting needn't really be about me and my face on the video. I usually share my screen and give them a few seconds' glimpses of what my tool can do for them. Just a very superficial walkthrough, with my audio on.

This usually gets my prospects to reply with either a question or two on the technical front or asking for a call (not all of them, but a few). Now the caveat is:

- This would not work for an absolutely cold reach out. A cold call and email with some context might, but not a video prospecting on a cold prospect.

- This can work well for a lead that you were in touch with ages back, and are now wanting to rekindle discussions.

Video out of scope of time. Too much of a time to put

yes. tried it for a while and stopped. It took WAY to long,

Also i think its most helpful if you are showing them something. Like if the video is you showing them their website and where you see improvements could be made, i think that would have a better chance of creating engagement than me just talking on camera.....

i know ppl SAY they have success, i have to believe its very industry specific.

I'll send a random video from time to time, 30 seconds, a few zingers and a meeting request. works most of the time.

Use it selectively (not first touch), have something to show, and keep it brief (don’t repeat the email, tease with the text and get to the point in the video)

I think if you can customize how the product would work for your prospect it could be very valuable

Look up a woman named Kathrine Caldwell on LinkedIn. She specializes in using video for cold outreach. I have had her on my live show before and she is great at what she does.

Personally, I do send a video email instead of leaving a voicemail. It takes me the same amount of time and has a much higher response rate
