How much do 3rd party recruiters make?

Considering working with a 3rd party recruiter for this enterprise AE role. I'm curious what the employer is going to pay the firm I accept their offer? Anyone have insight into this? (The OTE for the role is $220 with a 50/50 split.

Depends on the firm but for full time, permanent roles the fee is usually around 20% of the employee's first year OTE.

Well, Bob, if the price is right, a firstborn child will usually pay the piper. Or be safe like @funcoupons and pay 20% of the first-year comp. Whichever fetches more at the time of sale.

I used to work for a 3rd party recruiter placing SaaS sales roles. They charged 25% base salary with a 90 day guarantee.

Not sure if I'm correct, but I think their compensation might also be tied to how long the candidate stays there for.

Usually the candidate has to stay for a min of 3-6 months for the recruiter to get paid. Sometimes it's written into the agreement for an even higher retention period (12 months) especially if it's a senior role.

When you have your LinkedIn account set to "open to work" and recruiters reach out all the time do you take the mindset of "I need to sell myself for this role" OR "The recruiter needs to sell the role to myself?"
