How to find a US or Canadian employer?

I am based in a EU country but most of my clients are either based in US or Canada / Asia. I work with corporates, mostly Fortune 500 types. My field of work is very specific hence not many openings in sales in the same product type.

How can I find a US employer, considering that I would like this mainly because the US salary would be more in line with my work. Especially that I work mostly with US companies..

Are you looking for remote work or to relocate?

Either one will be pretty difficult, quite honestly, as there is a massive pool of talent over here and the scales have shifted favour employers over candidates these days..

Best of luck, going to be quite tough. It's hard enough in a candidate's market and this is anything but.

You need to be able to articulate what you're bringing to the table that a) can't be found over here & b) would justify the hassle, cost, and risk with sponsoring/bringing you over.

So many people are asking this, and the answer basically is it is super hard if not impossible. Most US companies hire only people who are eligible to work in the US. Except for roles they want to offshore mainly because they don’t want to pay much, e.g. lead generation out of the Philippines at $5-10 per hour.

Probably difficult if you aren't considering relocation

And that's probably also difficult, due to the kind of immigration status you'll need to obtain to get permission to do the work.

Show your value doing consulting/contract work then ask for a job. Getting a visa in US is way harder than Canada. If you're not looking to become a national of either country - there are plenty of non-immigrant intent visas.

There is a large difference between "I want to be paid in USD vs I want to work 'in' a country.

Check out both embassy pages for processing times from your country... If you're from India prepare for a long wait for review.

Best of luck.

Someone I know just got a a job at multinational fortune 500 company. He didn't relocate though but he gets paid with the Us salary. So tempting..
