How to qualify-out Fake Jobs (Phantom Jobs)?

I just read this and learnt the reasons of why companies put up these job posts out with no intentions to respond to applications.

What questions would you ask to qualify out if the job post or interview process is made up?

Agreed, in my experience the ones that aren’t serious are always the ones you don’t get an initial response to. Not sure if I have run into a fake listing before.

Depends on how large the organization is… reach out to the VP/SVP of sales and inquire about the position on LinkedIn. If the job is real they could get you an interview faster if they like your pitch.

Thanks for posting this. It’s enormously frustrating to hear about a hot job market and see “open” positions and not get an interview. This helps shed some light on the reality.

It's a case of who do you trust?. I see salesforce and hubspot doing this all the time. But also, I don't trust Forbes and see this as an attempt to sway employees from looking for more money elsewhere. Probably a little bit of both.

I think with a company the size of Salesforce, there’s always churn and always openings. The hiring managers are also always on the lookout for candidates. What you won’t know is if an internal candidate looking to get out of the role they’re currently in is going to get themselves into that chair before you. Potentially leaving that crap role they left as the one available that they are looking to fill.

"When people quit, the remaining workers need to pick up the slack. They are forced to work longer hours without any increase in pay. Then, they start complaining as to why the company isn’t actively looking to fill the vacancies. To appease the remaining workers, the company places ads without any intention of finding a replacement. They are merely pacifying the workers."

This is really screwed up!
