I'm triple vaxed and just got covid. I'm healthy and young with no underlying conditions and let me tell you I'm not feeling good at all. We have to learn to live with it, but be careful out there

That's what I've been hearing a lot of lately. Vaxxed, cautious people getting sick. I don't want to be a hermit but I also don't want to take any extra risks.

This omicron shit is everywhere..

First time I'm actually hearing about people I know (and know pretty well) getting COVID. Vaxxed, masked, and generally sensible folks as well.

I'm doing my best to live my life as similar as possible to how I was in February of 2020. I'm vaxxed, it's here forever, we have to get on with it

Yes, and I am doing it masked TF up. Give me weird looks all y'all want, but my kn95 wearing ass won't be the reason my nephew or nieces get it before they can be vaccinated.

Yep.  Not for work just yet, but personally, yes.   My inner introvert doesn't like being around crowds anyway, so the airport is about as busy as it gets.

Boosters don't eliminate the risk of being stuck in another country and unable to return. Has happened to a ton of Canadians, including a few I know..

Very true. I have a place to stay if I do get stuck/quarantined in Florida though.

Just got back from Mexico. I had Covid about a month ago before I could get boosted but I don’t feel bad about it at all.

Staying put for now. With kids under 5 don't want to risk it.

That’s a good reason to not travel for now.

Eh, I'm freaked by it. Two weeks ago I would have done it, but I'm hunkering down for a few weeks until things are less of a shit show out there.

Never stopped traveling during all of those (work and personal travel). Enjoyed travel more before the vax came out because no one wanted to travel at all and had planes basically to myself.

Yeah that was awesome. Plus flights, hotels, and Airbnb’s were crazy cheap. I was traveling somewhere at least once a month pre-vaccines to take full advantage of how cheap it was

Yup, and I am planning on going to conferences too. HIMSS is in March in Orlando if anyone else here is planning on attending

I had a work trip before thanksgiving and for the holidays we have done road trips. I’ve had 1 flight in 2 years. Bummer

I'm staying put for now as I don't love airplanes to begin with - just doing car travel

Vaccinated but travel depending on importance. So much pre-covid travel was frivolous and I’m not a productive traveler.

I'm travelling and flying every week for work around Canada and down into the states.  Just had my booster.  Stayed covid free so far from the beginning by taking care.

Vaxxed and boosted, but due to all the testing, quarantining, and lack of places that aren't under mountains of rules - what the fuck is the point?

Yes, vaxed and heading to a conference which I'm hoping will help me hit >100% for Q1. I'm gonna be busting my ass for four days and then hopefully take PTO sometime early EOQ and travel somewhere. I have to travel, otherwise I just get really anxious.

I relate so heavily to "I have to travel!" I finally have the money to & then we shut down

Been traveling (not including first 2 weeks when everywhere locked down) with no issues. Exercise, eat healthy, get sunlight, and avoid at risk people who have underlying health conditions or are very elderly and you shouldn't have anything to worry about.

I'm vaxxed, got covid. Was scheduled to fly out around beginning of Jan but had to cancel my flight. It's 12 days later and I'm feeling back to usual.

Still have to live my life now. I have business that requires travel.

I’ve had COVID twice. I’m vaxxed but not boosted. I’m an overall healthy individual so take what I say with a grain of salt, but I’ve literally had colds worse than COVID both times. Most of my friends and family have had it and the same result. The only person that got it who got actual sick was my grandfather who’s been through chemo 3 times. I’ve been going on with life as normal since lockdowns ended and plan to continue to do so. My experience with it all is that unless you have underlying conditions or are elderly, go on about your life, you’ll be fine.

I just have 1 shot of J&J (near-death experience), caught Covid once while cycling (real story) and have traveled, even international. I respect local rules, avoid clubs and eat healthy. I was in Vegas recently and is a miracle I didn’t catch omnicron; restaurants barely have a distance tbh

Are handshakes at F2F meetings a thing of the past now due to COVID? Or will it just be awkward AF for a while and then get back to normal?
