Is posting sales tips here frowned upon?

I shared a couple tips (that have been successful for me) around storytelling and negotiating, etc. Most feedback was good, some people commented saying this isnt the forum for sharing that type of thing. Confused, I thought this was for sales savages to bounce ideas of each other.

Is sharing sales strategy/tips cool here?

Sales tips are great to add. Just don't make it look like a LinkedIn post.

I think you did well with it. Keep it to the point, how it personally worked for you and maybe share a story about how it helped or didn't help.

This opens up for a ton of positive conversation and discussion.

Hope this helps you.

I see, thanks for the feedback. I never posted on LinkedIn but I guess I can see some tips being over the top and such.

Honestly, I like your stuff.

There's just been a deluge of gabagool, copy pasta linkedin nonsense nonsense.

You add context to your posts.

Nobody likes to be preached to or see clear copypasta. You haven't done that. You've explained why your suggestions have worked for you and you've made it yours. Carry on.

I don't think the stuff you're posting is bad. There are just a lot of people in here (myself included) who have become jaded thanks to the amount of garbage posters that come and go.

Your posts have been solid. I've saved them.Liked the breakdown of the story telling.

While context is needed for quality posts here...leave a lot of the fluff out.

Get to the point.

+1 for you asking for feedback about your posts.

The only thing I noticed about your posts is that they link to a website with the same info on it. If thatโ€™s your own company then itโ€™s likely self-promotion, and my only feedback is to not do that.

Otherwise, your posts are good!

Not affiliated with them in any way, its just the company who my org brought in to teach us a lot of these things a few years back. They have good stuff, I put my own lil spin on it. I tag em to give them credit and not make it seem like these are my original ideas, I can start excluding.

Add you sales tips, but as they relate to the situation someone posts, not your own post. This isn't a place for you to sell your book at.

its all about how you phrases it man.

"top ten tactics that made me the AE i am today"....... hard pass.

"hey i tried this approach this week and i saw X result. Anyone else do this?" MUCH better!

Tips are fine as long as you add some real world context and it doesn't just look like some LinkedIn regurgitated crap. I didn't see your post so not saying yours was, just my opinion

If you're not selling shit, I don't see why it would be an issue. I'm new here but, have a lot to say. The problem amongst AE teams is that person who is killing it never wants to disclose why. New ideas in this new Sales world should be encouraged. I want every MF on here to be successful and will share what's worked. Why the "yes" votes dominate this vote is really disheartening. WTF we here if not to help each other out and help us get that gold? My $.02, worth half that :)
