Is the fashion industry a good option to change careers?

I am digital marketing manager and managing editor. I am considering changing the industry I work in by switching to the fashion industry. Does the fashion industry take my career to the next level or is it a very competitive industry? Because I am very interested in leather items, I would like to work especially in leather fashion products industry. I read this blog http://www.menscardcase.com and it was very attractive to me to work in a company that produces leather products.

Anything you are passionate about is worth considering. Other than that, no idea where it will take you or if you will meet your goals, because you did not share those.

Good luck!

Used to work in fashion, loved it and it built my sales career and was a great place to grow. Depending on what segment you go into, there's big contracts and business to be won. I enjoyed it and would transition back if my current gig didn't work out.

If you are really interested in those lines of business, why not? As an industry, fashion is of course one of the fastest growing.

For me, no way in hell. To my first wife it would be a dream job. #1 thing to consider when accepting a job is how happy your life will be once your work is included.
