Just curious, what questions do you ask your manager during 1-1 meetings

we usually talk about goals for the week, ups and downs, and any questions I have

I am big on discussing ways I need support to get a better pipeline, but below is what SalesGPT suggests

What does the team need to do to exceed our goals?

What does the VP of our region say about our performance or strategy?

Is there anything holding me back and how can we overcome it?

Are there any interesting conversations or updates that might impact my work?

How am I tracking towards my career goals?

Are there specific areas where I need to improve?

Can we discuss any challenges or issues I'm running into with a deal and how you can help me push it forward?

Is there something that I am not happy with and how can we solve/change things to make it better?

Also fairly reasonable to listen to. This should be noted.

2. 𝐒.𝐎.𝐒 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐬: "Hit a roadblock? Yeah, me too. How would you, oh wise one, swing past it? Got any secret tools up your sleeve?"

3. 𝐂𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤: "Alright, spill it. How am I doing on the superstar scale? Give me the deets on where to glow up even more."

4. 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐛𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐚𝐝𝐝𝐞𝐫: "Looking to level up my game here. Got any pro-tips on how to reach the stars?"

5. 𝐓𝐞𝐚 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦: "What's the word on the street? How's the crew vibing? Any grand plans I should be in the loop about?"

6. 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐆𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐩: "Okay, real talk – what do the top dogs think we need to do to be absolutely fabulous? Got any tea on that?"

1-1s are more about you, than they're about the business.

I'm a complete introvert and anxious mess and I honestly am quite into working and then it's like do I talk about me or my work or do I ask for help and how should I come across as smart as possible and how can they like me omg they don't like me.

Come on, treat your manager like a customer that you need to sell to. It’ll flow after that.

I ask him to ask questions. If I have questions, I usually always reach out to him then and there, so by the time we get to the 1-1, I have nothing new.
These days, I have asked me to listen to one of my calls - together on zoom- and give me the feedback.

I do a PowerPoint. Results of revenue last month, forecast success and misses, appointment log, CBRs I have planned for the upcoming month, goals, I have a slide where I tell where management can help, and then key action items. I'm a prepared 🦊

I normally ask what they want me to improve, what I have been doing well and some out of work chit chat; kinda lame tbh
