Let's talk comp

In your honest and *objective* opinion, how much should the average BDR and AE make (OTE)? What about top performers?

How does that line up with your company/industry standard?

This is a REALLY broad post, especially between both AEs and BDRs. So many variables. You'd need to be more specific.ย

Also there have been several posts already done on this topic, if you search for them.ย

That's fair, but I'm sure there will be people who benefit from having the conversation again.ย

It's also intended to be a bit broad so we can see the spectrum of pay in different industries.ย

Agreed with this. What's proper OTE for an AE selling copiers in Ohio might be pennies for an AE selling SaaS in California. Other than location and product, one also has to consider experience level required for the job, sales cycle, the territory you're selling into, if the company is a start up or huge conglomerate. There's really no broad answer for this.

At all. It's really just a super broad/generic question that's extremely hard to nail down without specificity.

Average BDR OTE (depends on where you live) should be around 50K and Mid-level AE should be around 100K.ย  Top Performing AE's should be limitless and able to go well above 200K IMO.

Average is subjective. Are we talking fresh out-of-school BDRs in Boston, or 3-4 years experience MM AEs in San Francisco? Are they selling SaaS, or are they selling enterprise physical security systems?

The topic is far too broad in scope.
