Mad at myself, mad at my team

In Q3 I closed a monster deal that would've set me up for Q3 and Q4 to hit and exceed goal. Knowing that, I took my foot off the pedal and didn't really bring on many new clients since I knew I was going to hit my cap anyway.

Well, things fucked up, my team didn't set up the campaigns correctly and it took weeks to figure out with minimal spend, and so I'm going to miss my Q4 goal, by a lot.

I'm pissed that I took it easy, I'm pissed that my team made stupid mistakes that didn't get caught until the client brought it up, I'm pissed that I'm not going to get commission this quarter.

Never take your foot off the gas even if you think you're going to hit goal.

Bah.

Never let off the gas no matter what. Coasting only brings misery and mistakes.

Sounds like you learned something, but sorry it had to happen the hard way.

Truth is, nothing is a sure thing, so it's always good to keep going.

Appreciate you sharing!

I have never ever understood sandbagging in any form. Pointless and stupid. Life rewards you for what you do now, just get it done.

Yeah, really big bummer when things are out of your control. Even bigger bummer when things are in your control and you still fuck it up

Your foot's gotta be made of lead. Letting off just creates opportunities for failure. Sorry to hear about this, @AdsMakeTheWorldGoRound

Dude sorry to hear about that. Keeping an edge is the key, doesnโ€™t matter. Blaming is again not going to help anyone. Good thing is that you learnt from your mistake.

Everything happens for a good.

The silver lining is you're owning your f*ckup like a boss! That's not all that matters in the end, but it does matter a lot more than we think. @AdsMakeTheWorldGoRound

Yeah. I keep doing this, even when I think I have learnt my lessons. It's a shithole once your foot is off the gas.
But hey! If aggression and competition and rivalry drives you, look at someone who is now performing really well - it helps me drive myself.

Thanks everyone for your responses. I've been in sales for a long time and thought just once, I could coast hahahaha what a fucking dumb ass. Oh well, Q1 is around the quarter, time to build that pipe.
