Interesting I actually paid out of pocket for Navigator and didn’t find it that helpful. How are you getting value from
It?

1. The closest to truth in terms of database (lead / contact / account) building
2. Direct integration with CRMs for import. Even if you don’t have a CRM, LSN can be used as a CRM in itself (a bit noob, but does have the most basics in place)
3. Tons of InMail Credits for prospecting
4. Alerts on Job changes of specific contacts you choose to save (hence build a customer advocacy program)
5. Very efficient and direct search results (making possible to find needle in a haystack)
6. Now Getting into sales insight as well
7. SmartLinks (create decks online, share the link with prospects, track opens/ clicks / etc. on the link)

Solid points. I feel it sometimes depends on industry, but it is true that it's as close as you can get most of the time to true job titles.
Now if only people put their phone numbers in their profile lol

So defs Sales Nav, but I'm also going to shout out a bit of a dark horse: Mailtester.

Most other email verifiers/lead gens try and infer an address from what's on the internet, or rely on feedback to manually populate data - Mailtester directly asks an organisation's server whether an address is valid, for immediate feedback (I know that sounds like a sales pitch but it's just habit I swear I don't work for this company you guys).

Doesn't always work, and it's definitely a supplement to other lead-gen/verification tools - most business addresses are private for this sort of thing - but it's been awesome for a couple of orgs that I've struggled with in the past, and I've used it literally since I started in sales.

Also it was literally $20 for like 4000 verifications so great for those balling on a budget.

Out of curiosity is there any reason you would want to test emails before sending? I always thought the worst case is it bounces but does having a high bounce rate have a negative impact?

Great question. Got a short answer, and the long version for you.

TLDR: If a large sales team + marketing are working off poor data, and just sending at random: eventually it'll be super difficult to get out of your prospects' spam boxes.

Long answer:

I used to work for an email marketing provider (without going too deep into it).

Essentially - the more you screw up your email sends, the worse your sending IP's reputation, and the more your emails go to spam.

Generally not a problem for low-volume sends, but if you've got 10 sales people emailing at random, trying to hit 40-odd activities a day; plus marketing then using that data & even worse: doing a mass send for an EOFY offer (for eg.) based off that data: you'll get absolutely fucked by every email service provider under the sun.

Apart from anything: data enrichment tools aren't 100%. So if you've got, for example Lusha just pulling guesses off the internet, rather than actually validating the address against the server: they may not even be anywhere near the ballpark of the actual email you're looking for.

By just asking the server: you cut yourself down 30 attempted sends, and can get back to speaking to the people you want to.

In addition: Mailtester has a set of standard permutations that email addresses normally take, and you can just click the option that will verify everything they can think of against the server until the find the right one - without fucking your IP up.

Again - doesn't matter if it bounces every now and then. Just no need to burn through IP rep. for kicks.

Also important that I don't have activity targets, so I've got the time to get it right the first time. If you just need to hit activity - just send it and make it IT's problem hahaha.

Sorry for the long post but hope that helps!

Probably sales nav as it's generally quite useful and doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

If Sales is a meritocracy and we all have the same expectation to produce, why is the so much talk about pay equity/inequality in sales? Shouldn't the meritocracy part be an equalizer?
