My toxic sales trait

I can cold call for hours but sitting down and focusing on personalizing email/LI outreach feels like pulling teeth. Part of me feels like if I'm not actively calling out I'm not actually doing anything. anyone else in the same boat?

If not, what's your toxic sales trait?

Same! I can overthink a lot of things. Useful in reading a deal and prepping for red flags But definitely causes decision paralysis and lots of self-doubt.

i feel you on that so hard. I like calling and I am good at it but I hate emailing and creating cadences/sequences. I’d say I have two real toxic sales traits:
1. Curating/Prioritizing accounts and lists. I hate having to priotizing and create unique plans for each account. I’d rather just hit them. It can work a decent amount of time but thats not good in the long run.
2. Following up. After calls, I am pretty bad at following up. I always say I will follow up before the day ends and sometimes I will go a day or two without doing so. When you multiply this by each prospect, I end up letting 1 or 2 per month slip through the cracks and not follow up for a fucking week.

aaghhhhhhhhhh.
But, I do have skills that people who are good at the above will never have :)

My toxic trait is my sarcasm. I care! Like I really do, but not everything is so damn serious.

i feel the worst when i would take 15 min to send one fucking email.....when i could have made a bunch of dials during that same time.

I have the attention span of a squirrel that sees something shiny. I will be doing awesome on a task and then something hits my inbox and my attention gets diverted fairly quickly. I have to basically turn on blinders or use noise cancelling headphones to eliminate distractions because if I don't you could find me on the damn roof at some point if I see something up there that could be interesting.

What you feel is absolutely normal and I believe it's something common for many of us.
Perhaps the reason why is cuz that not acting actively will let you feel that you're missing a loop that may assist with getting a deal closed, not doing much personalization may let the prospects feel that the email or whichever communication means were sent randomly and may sound spammy for them that would reduce the opportunity to get your offer!
My advice is just do your best then don't think about it or stress yourself further.

Just a shortcoming you need to work on. Nothing toxic about it.

I'm just the opposite. I do a lot of front end work before I ever pick up the phone!
