No Shows by Recruiters

Actively started searching for a new role at the beginning/mid December. Have had several intro calls and a few move past.

One aspect I've experienced that I wasn't expecting was being flat out stood up by the recruiter managers. I understand it's common to be ghosted by recruiters, even in late stages.

But I've never been stood up on the first call, let alone several in a few weeks. I get people are busy, but it's really annoying as I'll spend the time to do my research on the company/product, only to be waiting in a zoom for 10 minutes while I notify the person.

Curious if anyone else is experiencing this right now while searching? Is it appropriate to confirm the meet a couple hours prior?

That doesn't seem normal. Confirm in advance though, based on your recent experiences. "Looking forward to talking you on x etc."

Ouch. I'm sorry.
Yes, I would absolutely confirm the meeting in advance, particularly since this has happened to you more than once.

Thinking that it is, just weird that a few happened all at once.

Been applying for various SaaS roles. 2 of the no shows were with AI sales assistant type platforms.

Reflective of a shitty culture unfortunately. If they treat candidates like that imagine how they treat employees.

Yup pretty common, just means they are unorganized and/or they have a better fit already

Please be sure to document your experience on sites like RepVue, Glassdoor, etc. Hiring is a two way street, and like the others called out, this experience is likely reflective of the org as a whole

Didn’t even think of that. Will definitely leave some reviews

Likely saved you a bad experience and imagine if you got an offer from the company and they ended up proving out how awful they are.

They call me Daddy, Sales Daddy
Never seen it happen on a first call, only in later stages after the company “decides to go in a different direction” and the recruiter doesn’t want to tell you.

I don't like it at all, shows disrespect. Seem to seeing and hearing about recruiters ghosting more and more though
