Note-taking approach on calls?

Curious to hear from folks are really, really good at taking notes. Ideally Gong would just upload my notes in a summarized format in SFDC, but until that happens (*ahem* Amit *ahem*)...

Do you click away on your Magic Keyboard, risking the inevitable lost rapport from appearing distracted while the prospect talks?

Do you hand-write them in a moleskin and type up a summary post-call?

Do you use your iPad + Apple Pencil and send a screenshot from Apple Notes to SFDC Opps? Or is there some way to natively hand-write notes via your iPad in SFDC via Evernote?

Trying to keep things digital vs. ripping through manual pen and paper, without looking like I'm checked out on the call. How have you cracked the code?

At my company we use https://grain.co/ to record and transcribe calls easily. Highly recommend trying! It saved me many times and not to mention hours of transcribing calls/making summaries  in details.

At a glance it looks like this would overlap with Gong, which already does a decent job of this. My challenge is getting notes into SFDC without a bunch of manual/dual work.

If you use salesforce then download Scratchpad. You're welcome. Its exactly what youre talking about. Digital note taking automatically goes into SFDC without doubling work.

Corp I really...REALLY wanted to like Scratchpad. It’s pretty, but I had to re-do a lot of notes tbh.

Well. Thats a you problem unfortunately. You definitely don't have to redo any notes. Change your custom fields maybe, but otherwise no.

Because it sync'd perfectly with my salesforce instance. I did a little customization after the fact because no salesforce instances are the same, but, took my updates from 30 mins to about 2 and my phone notes realtime.

again disclosure: I took an advisor role there because that shit changed the game for me.

Well then hop on a Zoom and advise a homie! Couldn’t get it working right. I’ll just wait for Grant’s 10x Notes SaaS.

I write everything with a pen and a notebook. Writing helps me remember important points, but the extra work to enter into a crm is annoying.

I don't feel that typing is a problem, it's that over typing. Definitely going old school has it's pros, but I never felt losing rapport from typing.

I write in a nice notebook. I put the highlights into SF and thats it. I have tried the electronic route and it just doesn't work for me.
