presentation adrenaline..

Got the opportunity to give 2 presentations in the past 2 weeks. And I can't articulate the adrenaline rush I get when the spotlight is on me.

One was a "demo-day" of sorts, where the entire day was reserved for every team in the company to showcase the fancy things they've done in past 4 months. Sales team thought out of the box and decided to focus on the "how we sell" part v/s "what $$ we sold" (which everyone knows).

YoursTruly QuizWhiz took the opportunity to present on stage, represent the sales team (being 1.5 months into the company, lol), and nailed it. With 0 prep and everything being impromptu - the crowd was absolutely engaged since the presentation wasn't boring like the rest of them. Awarded the first runner up.

Second presentation was in our weekly sales call - where YoursTruly was asked to share updates of the impact from International Sales in last 6 weeks. Received multiple praises from multiple team members on the presentation style, impact and again - the Non-Boring part.

The adrenaline rush I get is absolutely amazing - and probably even much more than I get on marking a deal as "Closed Won". Maybe I should join the theatre?

We made a few different slides. Slide #1 was the "What" part - $3mn in ARR YTD. Slides #2 to #10 was the "How" part - How we go about our DILO (day in life of) a salesperson at my firm - basically to school the engineering team, product team, content team - on what they how sales is done v/s how sales is actually done.
We had pre-recorded some hilarious videos on prospect's objections over cold calls n emails, how we cold call, how our lives have been impacted by our careers - which was taken very well by the audience.

So many opps dying and a Director who is panicking and going straight micromanagement, and a new return to office policy starting this week.
Just everything piling up, might be time for a switch.

Yes, and No for stage fright. The first 30 seconds are horrible, but once my first joke lands right - it's cakewalk from then on.

Closed Won always trumps anything else, but most sales like to present and talk, so it probably means you're in the right place.
