I'm spending sometime in Honduras and San Andres Islands - with three upcoming weeks on the radar, do you have any recomended place in North/South America?

I second CR. Belize definitely has some great areas but also some very sketchy ones, so choose wisely. Great for Mayan ruins, though, both Cahal Pech and Xunantunich. Riviera Maya in Mexico.

I love CR - best trip we did was 15 days, from Alajuela to Manuel Antonio/Quepos, down to Puerto Jimenez and back up to MA, then to La Fortuna/Arenal and back down to Alajuela and a resort on the hill. Animals GALORE.

Yes! Honestly, the only place I wouldn't bother returning to is Tamarindo. Cute beach town, but loaded with tourists and not enough animals. Funny that the road to MA is very touristy but also seems to have a ton of wildlife.

I haven't been to the Caribbean side at all - got my share of warm water in other places (Jamaica, the Bahamas, Belize) so I'm curious about your experience.

That sounds just magical! Never been to Belize so this is something I can consider with my wife. I thought for a moment that the Mayan Ruins were between Guatemala and Honduras, let me check my broken geography :D Mexico for sure is another fantastic place to go. Thank you SunBun

Avoid spending time in San Jose - it's just the major city and you'll want to stick to the rainforests and beaches.

Manuel Antonio cannot be missed, I also liked checking out Volcan Arenal - it was thunderstorming at the base and we had to drive up through thick clouds and then when we got high enough we were there was nothing but sun and an 'ocean' of clouds as far as the eye can see. The pooled water is amazingly coloured, and there was even some wildlife.

It's hard to go wrong... I did some zip lining through the trees, apparently there's some awesome bungee jumping I didn't get to do. Pacific side is beatiful.

It's hard to go wrong, just make sure you're not spending all your time at an all inclusive - it's definitely a place you can and should explore.

It depends on the type of tourism you want, if you are looking for a beach I recommend Miami Beach, Fort Myers and san augustine (Florida), if on the contrary you want to know, I recommend Machu Picchu.
