Literally just got off a team call where the CEO told us about how often he's gotten CEO's and Mayors of major cities to sign off on a deal on Dec 30/31 for millions of dollar. The whole team's eyes had completely glazed over at this point. I felt like say "cya on Jan1 " and unplugging from the world.

My old VP got mad that I took some time off around the holidays, he said in sales, we take time off in February, when it isnโ€™t End of Quarter. Dude our deal cycles are 6-9months, Iโ€™ve closed what I had in pipe, nothing left but waiting on an order from a partner, itโ€™s 12/27, mind you. Only thing I could do is prospecting.

Even then, if I got a hot deal and Iโ€™m in PTO, Iโ€™m staying on top of it and responding right away. I told him this and he said:

VP: โ€œ I know weโ€™re all remote, but itโ€™s demotivating to the team that we are all โ€˜hereโ€™ from 7-9pm trying to close deals and youโ€™re on PTOโ€
Me:โ€ฆ weโ€™re remote, Iโ€™m responding to my prospect, Iโ€™ve called, emailed and talked to everyone we can, what do you want me to do?
VP: you have to be here, even if all you do is hit the refresh button all day.
