Received offer, company pulled it day I was supposed to start

Recently received an offer from a company and was about to start working and the day I was supposed to start I was told that I would not be working there anymore that the board had pulled the offer. I put all my eggs into this basket and really liked the company so I stopped interviewing. Stuck with nothing now, is anybody hiring that could help speed up this process?

They call me Daddy, Sales Daddy
I take it you were unemployed prior to receiving the offer? If so, you don't have much recourse beyond leaving a review on Glassdoor telling the world about it.

If you left a job to move to them you may have cause for a lawsuit (based on your state's laws). I would consult an employment attorney.

Yeah unemployed for a short period, whole team of mine got laid off for budget cuts. I know thereโ€™s not much I can do, just figured Iโ€™d try to reach out anyway I can to people so Iโ€™m not stuck without something for a long period

yah, not much you can do here unfortunately. Just move forward and learn from this experience. Don't stop job searching (ever).

Next time try to negotiate severance upfront if they reneg on an offer before the start date. Still could happen but at least you get something for it. And if they push back thatโ€™s a red flag.

Sadly this is the world we live in. You are a number on a spreadsheet. Have a beer a blunt and move on. F em. It will happen again.

Don't have much to offer other than just to tell you that you aren't alone. This happened to me in January as well. It's absolutely unacceptable.

Unfortunately, this is more common than you think. I faced the similar problem earlier with another company. I guess name and shame could be a way to go

WOW!!! My only guess is this was a financial decision..?? In any case, that's horrible and very unprofessional. What if you had turned down another role because you accepted this one? Terrible.

Write an email to the HR person that offered the job to you, calling them out on their unprofessionalism. CC the head of HR. CC the head of HR's boss. And as said below, name the company here!

Iโ€™d still send them a solicitors letter asking for severance. It happened to a friend once and they got two monthโ€™s severance just to make him go away.

I was hired at a really good start up about 4 months ago for a SDR role that I was told I wouldnโ€™t be in for very long. Theyโ€™re gonna go public in the next year, but Zoom Info reached out to me about an Account exec position. Now Iโ€™m wondering if I should take the guaranteed route to AE or let my shares vest and get to AE at the place that took me. Usually I wouldnโ€™t consider jumping so quickly, but AE is AE.
