Rejected inside of 10 seconds

I just submitted my application for a Director of Client Experience position. Within ten seconds of my hitting the "submit application" button, I received an email telling me I'm not qualified. Oh - I am qualified!!! Is this AI doing its' thing? Is this because they filled the position? Or is this "double secret probation?"

The ATS did it to you. No one actually saw your resume.

You might want to check out JobScan.co prior to submitting for your next position. Can really help in overcoming the ATS.

Something on the resume caused the ATS to auto-reject. Did you answer any questions that might of disqualified you?
Lots of times its about work authorization or desired salary

Yeah I think Salary is what likely triggered it.

That's fucked. Can you still reach out directly to the hiring manager?

None was listed. However, I am connected to the CEO on Linkedin. I just message him about it.

No discussion of salary. Can't think of any questions that could disqualify me...

Maybe they were not accepting any new candidates but have the posting still up?

If I were you I would send a direct email to the recruiter in charge to see if it's real.

Their Feedback is expected to involve Only 2 answers no third:

Firstly : Which I guess applies in your case that it was just a simple technical glitch they need to work on Asap.

Secondly : That you were not actually selected and it would be your opportunity in this case to ask a human not an AI:) the reason why your application wasn't considered!

Best of luck,

What questions were asked? Something kicked the application out.

Nothing out of the ordinary. The usual, do you need a visa...

I mean, could be a technical glitch.
Did they ask for salary range?

Could be worth resubmitting an application to make sure it wasn't just a glitch. Or resubmit it & change up some of the answers, the ones that you're able to at least

There are some positions that truly are already filled. The position I started within the last year had me apply through LinkedIn *after* getting a verbal offer.
While it is strange, I definitely agree with the advice to seek clarity by @maxmartin

it was either filled or an answer you gave was an auto reject.

i would assume that the job listing isnt actually open....some companies always have job listings posted but its not actually being reviewed. so they just have an auto reply of "your not qualified"

I hate the automation of the hiring process so much.
However, it definitely separates the wheat from the chaff.
Who knows, could be an automated rejection for EVERYONE who applies to see who goes the extra mile in reaching out personally.

That seems extreme, but who knows? Crazier things have happened, right?

For ANY sales position and particularly for a director level - try to avoid submitting "cold." Always make an effort to find a way to get someone at the org to submit it for you! GL!

Before applying look for the company recruiter. Reach out and request some time on their calendar. Having an inside sales person always make a difference.

Thats fucking nuts... AI is taking over the world... I would reach out directly to the recruiter and include the email you received saying you're not qualified.
