Room rates

Hi folks, I'm booking my hotel for a conference in Dubai next month, and was wondering what kind of hotels do you usually book when you go on one of these things ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

My room rate is around 170 usd per night, and just wanted to see a few of you share the usual rates your employers cover for you ๐Ÿ˜Š

We don't have a hard and fast rule. Basically it is what's reasonable for wherever I'm going.

A major city when I have meetings downtown is going to cost a lot more than something in a smaller area. I go for a hotel that is in the right area and covers my needs, and is roughly in the middle of what's available - never the cheapest or most expensive.

In terms of room level, it's a similar approach. Not a suite or anything but it doesn't have to be the cheapest option. If it's $10-20 more to get a kitchen etc. then I'll do that.

This is what we have as well. SF is not Boise. NYC is not Orlando.

Iโ€™m a Hilton person and here in the US I try to stay at places around $150 USD.

170 USD sounds reasonable. I think for us it's as long as it's reasonable like no 5 star resorts.
