Sales Terms No One Outside Sales Would Understand

Was talking about this with my s/o recently as a lot of the terms we use in the office have become part of my conversation in everyday life including -

Booter: refers to someone who isn't a decision maker

Kicker: same as booter

Raging Kicker: a booter but on steroids

Plus pitch: pitching someone in the DMP after another person has already been pitched

Fly pitch: pitching someone straight from the cold call without setting up another time to pitch

What are some terms that your office uses? Want to add more sales vocab to my arsenal.

I’m a big fan of doing them, no one knows about them though outside of sales circles, at least in my experience.

Anybody in tech knows them - used all the time for departmental sessions from HR to ESPP or updates. :)

I use them to get in front of customers all the time and it’s fantastic for it!

The idea is…to get in front of a customer for an extended period of time, you offer to bring in lunch. And in return you get their undivided attention for an hour or so to present on your product/services, etc.. A great way to get extended face time in front of a customer, meet other stakeholders you haven’t met yet, show off your knowledge and expertise.

This is a major tool in our industry that is used heavily.

Ever use wood? CRM garbage in process that'll never sell, usually prepared for pipeline meetings.

I think it came from dead wood. Just garbage to fill space.

An unfortunate one to add is PIP
DEFINITELY not using that with my wife though. I don't think that would go over well (and is unnecessary, she's pretty awesome).
Plus what the hell could the consequences be?! (Aside from my sleeping outside, perhaps)
