What things outside sales help you sell better?

Some of my mentors have told me to consume content outside of pure sales content to diversify my information sources. Just curious what other books, podcasts, LinkedIn personalities or anything else would you say helped better yourself as a seller?

At first I thought you were looking for sales content I was ready to come at you. Then I re-read.

Jay Shetty's podcast On Purpose is a perennial favourite of mine.

Please share anything you have within sales too!! I have enough podcasts but I’m looking for some good newsletters or blogs to follow. I think I’ve read most books too but would love to know any SDR specific books you recommend,

Working out every day. It makes me a more alert seller throughout the day since I workout in the morning and I pretty much never need a sick day. I also think the daily discipline helps me remain more disciplined throughout the week.

Even if you start with just a 20 minute incline walk every morning you will notice a BIG difference.

Be a bartender for a while. you will gather enough examples on storytelling and catering to someone's needs than any other place in my experience.

Industry oriented podcasts are always good, whatever your industry.

I listen to some fitness podcasts and some historical ones.

i listen to alot of marketing content. my favorite person is Chris Walker from Refine Labs.

his podcast is awesome.

he shares alot about how to be a business leader/CEO, as well as his view on marketing.

and since sales and marketing is only going to become more closely relater in the future its a cool thing to learn about .

also the Sastr Podcast, or The 20 Minute VC by Harry Stebbings. this helpd me a TON when i first got into saas to better understand how the industry worked, and what a successful company looks like. it helped me identify the current company I was at, was a shit show.
