Sales Trainers: effective or waste?

World class athletes all have coaches/trainers they work with on an ongoing basis. I read sales books, follow all the sales "experts" on LI, but am considering hiring a sales trainer to work with every month. There's tons of room for improvement.

Any of you have experience with an ongoing sales trainer? Anyone you might recommend?

Good for beginners in sales who want to immerse themself with new content. Not that great for sellers with experience. Most of the stuff taught in. those courses is put out for free by the trainers in their content.

I would make a list of the ones you're interested in partnering, and interview them. Be upfront about what you're looking for/expectations. Look for someone who is organized and can show you how to read public companies' financial statements if you're prospecting into C-suite (I haven't really found one that knows how to do this or have this in their curriculum).
I get more from reading books but I've joined a couple of Patreon Groups like KD and Scott Leese and both have been valuable  and not bad for $10/month

I've picked up/gone through my fair share of sales training so far.

Sandler, John Barrows, Straight line selling.

What I can say is it's hard to stay consistent with the training.

My biggest pet-peeve with sales training is that it's always crazy expensive for bespoke training. Now obviously it's justified as you'll make your investment back, but it still hurts your hip pocket more. You'll pay a lot less for comparative services in any other industry. It's just that sales knows how to justify ROI better than them..

Most are garbage + regurgitate the same thing over and over again.

HOWEVER

Craig Wortman is good.  My old company hired him for 2 SKOs and he was really good + had stuff that was actually applicable.
