Should I just cut and run

So, looking for opinions.

I just started a new role and last week was my first week and it was very MEH ๐Ÿ˜•

It was nothing like they said, the onboard was, honestly, terrible, and they donโ€™t seem to know whatโ€™s going on. Itโ€™s also not really like what they said and they have changed my role from Enterprise to commercial as they arenโ€™t ready for enterprise just yet.

I had another offer on the table, so do I just cut and run, and go back to the other company, or do I wait it out?

Tough decision. I like to give any job at least 3 months, but if you only worked there a week and have another opportunity it's not like any employer would ever know you worked at this company. Go with your gut!

Appreciate that @Chep

i am similar to you and I like to give things a decent amount of time, perhaps itโ€™s just cos it was so meh that I am thinking about whether the grass is greener.ย

You're welcome. Grass always seem greener, but the truth is we can never know unless we try. Sometimes the grass is greener and sometimes the grass is dead. Such is life๐Ÿค๐Ÿคฃ

I mean, aside from it being meh, you signed up for something that's just not there, yes?ย  Didn't you sign on to be an ENT seller, and they have you at commercial.ย  If there were a reason to cut, I'd think that would be a good one-aside from meh/non-meh.

I made that mistake years ago. I kept up with a company that rugged me like that. But I wanted to give them a fair try. 2.5 years later, they were still doing the same shit and I was miserable. So miserable I left sales completely for 7 years and went to go do a job so scary and hard. You'd probably never believe me if I told you what it was. It also helped that I had made a considerable amount of money and no longer required sales to support me. But still, it was really hard for me to come back to sales because of that terrible job. If you think it's bad now, it's not going to get better, get out while you can.

Thanks man! Thatโ€™s what Iโ€™m concerned about if I leave it too long.ย

glad youโ€™re in a better place now.ย

Trust your gut, in sales if your head is not in it, it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. ย Youโ€™re not too far in to basically never have this on your resume without people questioning it.

Cheers man!

maybe itโ€™s worth reaching out to the other place and having a conversation. If itโ€™s still a possibility, then perhaps I have a decision and, if not, maybe I need to grin and bear itย

Call me what you want, just sign the damn contract
You're honestly better off doing it now rather than having to explain 6 months at a shit factory (it's a problem, trust me).

I was hired at a really good start up about 4 months ago for a SDR role that I was told I wouldnโ€™t be in for very long. Theyโ€™re gonna go public in the next year, but Zoom Info reached out to me about an Account exec position. Now Iโ€™m wondering if I should take the guaranteed route to AE or let my shares vest and get to AE at the place that took me. Usually I wouldnโ€™t consider jumping so quickly, but AE is AE.

With the Eagles looking terrible the past two weeks should I just assume the Phillies will choke their playoff chances away?
