Teasing with custom images in cold outreach?

video cover

Hi Folks,

As they say , pictures are worth a thousand words. I am wondering if you use images/pdfs/videos in your cold outreach to make it highly personalised for that account / prospect?

I find it helpful for followups to show case I have done my homework for the prospect so I can stand out, specially in services sales. But doing this is consistently hard. It's alot of work when done manually.

As a fellow seller, I started to build a small tool that takes a prospect email address and start doing research on the company, find the names of the key executives, looks up latest financial reports for important keywords/trends and then puts all that into a personalised product snapshot of my product offering that I can use in the cold email or linkedin outreach.

Currently it works well for publicly listed target companies. It takes 4 seconds to go from entering prospect's email to finished product demo snapshot.

I am wondering if any of you currently do this manually and if I can help set it up for you to get some early feedback? I have bandwidth to help 10-15 of you before I start experimenting with pricing it.

I am attaching a 40-second screencast of the tool here , is this of any interest to you?

Are there any other tools do you use similar to this?

Happy to take questions in comments or in DMs.

The main question would be, if the email client will download your pictures? I know a lot of people do not allow pictures in their incoming mail from an unknow person

I have stopped using my company logo in email signatures because of this too.

+1๐Ÿ‘† also my question is , if the images load from your domain (like in marketing emails) or attached as inline image?

I believe they are more likely to be linked to spam too

These would be inline images, something that people genuinely send in emails for sharing screenshots of all kinds. You think the bots know how to seperate these images to block sales outreach?

I removed an image from emails because the emails were not getting read, which led me to deduce they weren't getting through to the target.
My first email is text only, every time.

And it seems as though I'm raining on the parade. Kudos to you for seeing a need and trying to resolve it. Problem is that I'm concerned it would not work because the message would never get through. No matter how good the snippet is.

Great points! Thanks for the feedback. Do you personalize the email text per account? or per lead? Any pain points in that process?

Getting people to even open an email when everyone is sending emails is the hardest part. You have to multithread. But yes, personalization is important.

This was the first thing that came to mind. Deliverability could very well be impacted and I wouldn't take that risk.

Does putting a 20kb inline image may make it less deliverable? but people send screenshots and images in the email all the time , no?

Maybe once the initial email has gone through. I put my email with the graphic in it next, and was more successful.

I quite like the graphs. Could work with existing customers who have gone quiet

Yes, for now.
What would you like it to do?

Just not sure I'd pay for a tool that scrubs 10Ks to generate an image.

looks like you do have an important insight trapped in the use of word "worth" there :)

People tend to personalize in first outreach because they are looking for attention, the cost of personalization is high ("not worth it") when you don't even know if the email is going to reach or the person has moved org.

If cost of personalization is reduced to zero, would anyone resist personalizing their first outreach?

I use a lifetime license of hyperise for this. I think this works for lower ticket high volume customers as it's a little gimmicky but it'll increase response rate.

I've got campaigns and use them, but they're not life changing I guess.

@SgtAE This is good feedback, is there a way I can learn from what sort of content has helped increase the response rate for you. Can I DM?
