The best location to work(and live) in technology sales

I am curious where everyone thinks is the best place to work in sales. I live in Chicago and I love the fact that I'm right in the middle of the US for travel and time zone reasons(I have a territory of all US and Canada). I'm curious what arguments people have on where to live especially since I'm remote now and could potentially work from anywhere.

I think if you have a pretty wide spread territory, Central time zone is where it is at. Bonus, a lot of those states have VERY favorable tax policies regarding commission (ex Texas which, I know, is not all CST).

That being said I am in the Bay Area, and my territory is pretty small, so it is nice being driving distance from some of the fastest growing/most disruptive companies in the US.

Cost of living is absolute shit but the vibe is kind of cool?

Personally I am contemplating a move to Austin in the near future.

Nice! Chicago compared to other major cities has a really good cost of living but the weather is something to get used to for sure. Really good culture and vibe here too. Austin is a place I would consider though.

I imagine anywhere in Colorado would be great right now.

Probably also Tennessee because you know taxes.

This is an interesting question.

I would think you should be able to live anywhere as long as there's a major airport nearby. You know, when travel picks up again.

I don't see people having to move back to places you can barely afford to live. Remote work obviously works. We've come too far to look back.

Bringing up the airports is interesting. I'm used to 3 major airlines being hubbed here in Chicago. Never thought about that but having direct flight to almost all of the US is amazing. saves so much time with transfers and delays.
