Trouble getting replies on cold emails?

Hopefully this helps one person today...

Been toying with various cold emails the last 2 weeks since rejoining my new (old) company.

I'm having a solid response rate (20% today alone on 40 emails) to the following template (customized to my market):

"Hey PERSON -

Are you still best contact for imaging related projects?"

Noticing two things in responses:

1) they answer yes or no

2) they extrapolate more info than I initially asked for. "Yes, I am. I oversee X, Y, and Z"

I'm then following up with something along the lines of:

"Oh awesome. Well, I'm sure you don't NEED anything right now. But, if you're having any issues with service costs or planning any system purchases, happy to provide some options that may (or may not) help.

Anything come to mind?"

20% response rate on 40 emails is a huge way to start your tuesday

Following up with a single question email after tailored messaging always does the best for me!

Make your emails look like text messages. Always a winner.

Nice! I'm trying something similar with cold calling into a newer section of territory that I adopted. Basically starting with all of the leads the previous person had and contact them to ask the same or similar questions.

Love it. No point in building rapport with someone who you won't be selling to.

I love such emails and I feel like responding too because there is no crap - to the point, no push, I am there for you if something goes wrong type of conversation

That's not a bad email template - basically trying to get the ball rolling. Cold emailing is harder than cold calling IMO - too easy to hit the delete key.

It's REALLY hard to get people on the phone in my industry.

Seems this helped more than one person today. My solution has a future looking โ€œkicker.โ€ Making it nearly impossible to distill a message into one line. Iโ€™m gonna play with this tomorrow as well.

Yeah I mean if you can get above 10% response on cold email whether it is negative or positive its a net gain.

The more your email is tailored the more responses to expect, glad for your response rate, good job!

Nice and short.. plus it's a nice pattern interrupt.

The number of emails I got in my last role to sell whatever sales tech that looked the same as everyone else makes me physically ill to think about.
