What a nightmare and dissapointment! Been a while everyone.

Hey everyone,

How's it going firstly? I hope everyone's having a great weekend so far.

If you are looking for a job, I get it: it is tough but you will find it soon. Hang in there.

It has been a while because been dealing with pile of crap. Since I joined this company 4 months ago in December, I was pretty happy but turns out that they are full of shit.

I am a BDR:

Since I joined my segment (Global, Majors, ENT etc) has changed 3 times. After 4 months,

1) There is no clarity on the account list I own.

2) From covering 2 AMs, jumped to covering 4 AMs,

3) Being treated like marketing secretaries (asking us to mass enrol leads, spray and pray)

4) No promotion in the near future, there is a guy who were a BDR for 2 years and still not promoted.

5) Data is shit

6) Partners and US team steal deal regs all the fucking time

My AMs are also feeling the same way. They are very supportive but they struggle with the same challeneges. My team, my managers, all great but there is nothing they can do.

I can't change jobs for now and I have been a BDR for almost 2 years soon and not wanting to stay as one for any longer.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

4 months isn’t too long but If you can’t change jobs than you’re kinda stuck. Just make the best of it. Try to think and work outside the box.

If you truly are stuck for the time being, remind yourself you work to live, you don’t live to work. Your work does not define you, so make sure you are getting satisfaction elsewhere.

However, are you able to still look for another role while you are still working this one?

You still have some good time to decide whether that was the best opportunity for you or not.

As being hired in December is never enough to me to judge a certain place within that duration and you don't have to compare yourself with your colleague who wasn't promoted after those 2 years, as you may have skills he doesn't have or you might offer business what he couldn't offer, that could get you the advantage at the next promotion cycle who knows, so don't give up on that.

I understand that you weren't that impressed with what you've found so far, but at least recommend you to complete your journey till the end, let's say a one year from now and you could finally decide if that's the best place for you or try a different place, and wish you much of luck with your career!

Fuuuuck that sucks homie.

But never tell your self you “have” to stay where you are or you can’t advance. You can try for sure! It’s all about finding the right company!

Sounds like they hired you knowing they needed you, but are still figuring things out. I'd give it some more time.

Keep the thoughts positive. Have gratitude when negativity creeps in.

You're growing as you're walking through this.

Unfortunately this is most orgs on a good day… grin and bear it brother. Sales isn’t for the weak hearted and you don’t seem to be weak at all.

Have you tried to interview, obviously its a lot harder to land a role. But taking 30 min a day to connect/network with recruiter/sales manager might pay off more than waiting for another promotion
