what did you blow your first big commission check on?

I feel like it's a right of passage to blow your first commission check on something absolutely senseless.

for example: I put a nice down payment on a brand new boat and loaded it with fishing tackle with mine.

I went to Vegas and spent $1500 gambling and other questionable stuff. Woke up the next day with about $50 worth of chips in my pocket so I guess you can say I suck at gambling.

I bought a very expensive piece of art.

My favorite custom jewelry designer had just opened a gallery, and it was opening night. I wanted to support her, and this gorgeous oil painting really spoke to me. No regrets!

Thomas Kinkade is one of my favorites. I’ve been to his gallery in Carmel, Ca and the way his paintings react to ambient light are incredible.

I would never in a million years guessed that.

his paintings aren’t that expensive. Why not just buy some of his work?

I should. I have so many childhood memories with his work tied to them. My grandparents had a few of his pieces.

not a fan of his Disney stuff but his nature work moves me the most. I feel like I’m looking into one of my dreams. Or into a distant memory.

I was living in MA, about an hour from NH and the state liquor stores.  Back in 2007 the $$ you'd save was definitely worth the drive.  I spent about 1500 on booze for my apartment......it was gone before my next comission check

my coworker swears by his full suspension ebike - never really was interested in one until he started raving about it.

anyway, always remember: the minimum number of bikes one should own is three, the correct number is n+1, where n is the number of bikes currently owned. This equation may also be re-written as s-1, where s is the number of bikes owned that would result in separation from your partner.
