I had a boss at my last company that was a pro at this. Showed up Monday for all meetings, checked out Tues/Wed, and then came back in like a bat out of hell on Thur/Fri. Mid-week golf or fucking around was the name of his game, and fury would be dolled out if we didn't complete a task that was impossible without him on his checked-out days.

Here's my advice: everyone notices it, not just you. Your boss's boss will notice, and if they are anything like my old CEO, they'll fire your boss real quick when they find out the corporate Amex is on file at the local country club with thousands and thousands of $$ worth of Kettle One bottles on it.

This is what Iโ€™m expecting. What do you do when the boss is the CEO? Run for my life probablyย

Oh boy. Once the leader of leaders checks out itโ€™s time to hunt for a new spot.

Lol I've never experienced this. It's super weird if that's what's happening.ย

I'd suggest reaching out and letting them know you'd appreciate more follow up if that's what you would like.

It's possible that your boss was just out of the office?

I wish. They have been in and out for months now. It was hit or miss. Now it's just miss.ย

If you're boss is that checked out you might be able to get away with a month or two of paychecks from two spots.ย

I've never had this in my experience unless they're truly on vacation for a few days... I would bring it to your boss' attention and express your concerns for them. Make it about them and more of a check in to see how they're doing.

I'm afraid to do this, honestly.ย

Yikes... You could bring it up to someone else higher up but if that happens, you'll have to be able to address why you didn't personally bring it up first then.
