Its definitely staffing...Think of everything out of your control:

- If you give me this req who knows if I am going to find someone

- If I find someone who knows they will be interested/show up to the interview/interview well

- If they do, who knows they will get the job.

-If they do who knows they will accept it.

Although lucrative, its the most stressful industry.

I tend to agree. You can have a flawless process and be the best salesperson around and still lose deals because some bone head no showed their interview. Selling human beings as your product is brutal.

I've been selling into marketing for a few years, honestly found their budget isn't that bad. Also depends on the product you're selling though.

I think it's anything that has an extremely long sales cycle, especially when you come from an environment when the average sales cycle is only weeks, a few months max.

I’m in the middle of a transition from SMB to enterprise and it’s almost like a whole different game, but loving it so far.

How long is your sales cycle in ENT? My last was 9-12 MO and it felt so bad lol.

I am the first ENT AE here, historically it's about 6-9 months though. Tough especially cuz I'm so used to closing a couple of deals week over week

Never did it, but those timeshares sure seem hard to sell.

Not a "product," but the most difficult thing in my business is selling people on the idea that math is real and they can't retire at age 50 by screwing around on Robinhood with $5k.

Also, a lot of people I reach when trying to set up an intro call think they "already have a financial advisor." In reality, they have a 401k like everyone else in America, and they don't even know it can't be accessed before age 59.5 without a penalty AND you have to pay taxes on distributions.

It has been truly alarming to see how many otherwise intelligent people have no clue what it takes to have even a decent financial plan. That's also what I like most about my job, though. The opportunity is nearly endless these days.

Yes, losing $50k would be very damaging for some people.

The toughest thing to sell is ourselves and the value we bring to a business.   Once you mastered that, the rest is easy:P

Copies has to be up there, Imagine cold calling business last year and asking them if they want to switch to a new copier company when no one was in the office. ( I've never sold them)
