What’s your favourite sales book that isn’t a sales book

You get bonus points if it isn't a self help book (but you still get points, don't worry). Stand up straight and tidy your room yes yes good advice but give me something.... esoteric. Tell me you THRIVED after reading the machinations of the Baron in Dune. You doubled your quota attainment after dabbling in Dostoevsky.

I read a book about unsolved crimes.

Made me think, if a guy can kill 7 people and never be found

I can be anything I want to be

More importantly, it may not be a book, but Donkey in Shrek is a great sales inspo. Shrek starts off hating him but he is so persistent (literally moves into Shrek's house while he's gone) that he ends up becoming his side kick and winning him over.
Not to mention he is a donkey, who marries a Dragon.

All a body can do is shoot their shot and then shoot it again. Eventually you'll start hitting the target.

Other than that you should read 'The Way of Kings' by Brandon Sanderson.

Robert Greene’s stuff helped me a ton last year

Book of Five Rings by Musashi is an excellent exploration of how to achieve mastery in a chosen domain

Julius Caesar’s personal account of the Conquest of Gaul was an awesome read and really helped me understand how being able to form alliances is probably the most valuable skill anyone can have in any field, ever

The One Thibg by Gary Keller. Yes it’s self help but he is a very good educator and keeps it entertaining with good stories and graphics. Talks about ruthlessly eliminating unnecessary work and focusing on what works. So good.

For those that are selling for a manufacturer The Goal by Eliyahu Goldratt. Yes, I want it to always be on the shelf and for manufacturing to make my thing first but having an idea of what they are working through is very helpful.

Lord of the rings: just gotta put one foot in front of the other, have some good food, and recognize that you are stronger from the company you keep.
