What’s your “Why?”

So.  The search for a role sucks rn.  it's crazy ugly in most areas for IC's and management.

C-level folks are worried.  Timing is horrible.  For anything.

So.  How does one keep their "Why" in front of them?  How do you know what makes you tick in times like these?  There are successes and failures all the time, but when it's "really bad" how do you keep a positive attitude and keep your focus?

I would love to hear any advice.  Thanks savages!!!  Power on!!

“I am not a bitch”

I have bills and people to support. There is no time to be sad about the market. Can’t find a full time sales gig? Go get a part time role (or full time) somewhere else while you keep searching.

Stop applying for roles without reaching out to a 1st connection or directly to the HM. Record a loom and hit their inbox. Pull out all the stops.

It is brutal out there, im employed currently but constantly waiting for the other shoe to drop. Hang in there and keep grinding, someone else is looking for the same job, beat them. that would be my why (besides family) knowing someone else is out there sending that last email after me, dont let them!

Thanks. I think you hit a point that we all need to be thinking about: “…waiting for the other shoe to drop.” That in and of itself makes for a challenging day-to-day.

How do we know if we are doing enough?

For me, the why is that I have worked too much to come this far to look back. I have so much I want to get done in sales before I call it a career and I have put in too much work and sacrifice in the past few years to just walk away from it all.
THAT is my why.

It’s all about “I didn’t come this far…to come this far.” Thanks for that piece.

Control the things you can control, which is your effort and managing your responsibilities. Stay focused on why you're working and the rest becomes noise.

stay focused an determined. Sell yourself to companies you are interviewing. Show genuine enthusiasm for the mission, product and culture.

Its either that, or start over in a new profession. Sales is peaks and valleys, interviewing is just another valley

Homelessness and the idea that there is always someone waiting for my spot. Not to mention sales is the life blood of every org. We literally pay everyones salary (yeah I said it 😤)

Exaggerated? Perhaps, but sales is not for the faint of heart so it’s literally get rich or die trying for me.

You have to love the chase, and if you don’t go get a normal job with a few grand bonus check at the end of the year 🤮
